This project is designed for collaboration between two 4th grade, or year 4 classrooms located in Colorado, USA and the Northern Territory, Australia. Students will work together to research and explore both their state and their partner classroom's location. 21st century skills will be utilized to share and work together on projects including developing a tourist brochure for their town, as well as developing a travel plan to the two locations. Students will utilize resources on the internet to work across the globe collaboratively, fostering a better understanding of the locations and culture.
The projects contained in this website will meet curriculum standards and objectives for the state of Colorado and the Northern Territory, Australia. ISTE standards will also be integrated within the learning module's lesson plans. Please see the Teacher's Page for an in-depth description and resources for this learning module.
In this learning module, students will:
Create an introductory video about themselves.
Work with a team to research and create a tourism online booklet for their location.
Work collaboratively between the two classrooms to research and detail travel budgets for each location.
Comment and collaborate on the intro videos, tourism booklets, and travel plans using technology.
Utilize 21st century skills to create and learn with each other across the globe!
